"I'm getting a goddamn massage!", I said to myself seconds after we crossed the finish line, still gasping for air, legs screaming in pain. While I was enjoying my private jacuzzi that night, I recall everything that happened earlier that day.
I love running, whether it is just plain running or with the help of a treadmill. In fact, when I was younger, I used to be part of our high school's track and field team (but I was no long distance runner, hell no). So when my colleagues invited me to join our conglomerate's fun run, of course, I said yes.
We joined the Robinson's Fit and Fun Buddy Run at Bonifacio Global City (BGC). It was similar to other marathons except that you have a buddy and the two of you have to cross the finish line at the same time. I

...we had to cross the Buendia flyover!!!
The first ascend was tough but it still felt like my legs and thighs were just being stretched and were only getting warmed up. But since we will be crossing the same flyover on our way back, I already knew that the second time will be
I was already wasted after we crossed the 5 km mark and perhaps Marshie was also exhausted, not from running, but from giving me all the encouraging words in the world. I seriously wanted to cry before our 2nd (and 3rd) ascend as my legs were screaming in pain already. And we will be faced with more uphills once we return to BGC.

The only thing that was in my mind after we crossed the finish line was to get a massage. I badly needed one and of course, I deserved it! Wooohooo! But I was looking for something different, not just my usual Swedish massage, as I wanted to severely pamper my feet!
Later that day, Marv and I visited Soulstice Spa in Valencia, Quezon City. I heard that it offers fish spa services and that was already enough to entice me to check out the place. The only time I was able to try out a fish spa was in Manila Ocean Park, which was overcrowded and noisy.

Like any other day spa, the ambiance in Soulstice Spa was inviting yet relaxing at the same time. I was surprised how they were able to keep it that serene despite being located in the heart of Greenhills Town Center, amongst the very busy restobars. Crazy yet effective soundproofing.

We are pretty fussy about a spa's couples' room being the massage addicts that we are. It has to be cozy and relaxing, has beds that do not make squeaky sounds, has no weird smell, and must be near the bathroom / shower room / sauna. I don't like it when you're required to shower after a service (i.e., body scrub or sauna) and must cross the entire hallway before you can get back to your room. What if you decide to just cover yourself up with a towel? Heehee.
Soulstice Spa offered something even better. Its Couples' Room already has its own jacuzzi and shower area. Talk about extreme privacy! The sauna room, on the other hand, is just beside the Couples' Room.

I borrowed this photo from Fashion Intern website too since I was unable to take a decent photo of the room. We were excited to change into our robes already.
Felt like Valentine's Day in July! Marv's crazy about jacuzzis and saunas so this was heaven for him.
For services worth PhP1,500 or above (total), 1-hour use of the jacuzzi is already free of charge (Marv and I split the amount hehe). Those who only want to utilize the jacuzzi can pay PhP500 for 1-hour use. But it'll become more affordable if you're going to avail some of the spa's services / packages. Meanwhile, use of sauna is free for every massage service, yey!
As for their Swedish massage, I really liked the feet and leg part, it was probably one of the best I've ever experienced, even if those body parts were too numb at that time. I also enjoyed the heavenly head and face massage! Yes, unlike other spas, Soulstice Spa's masseuses also massage your face -- I tried so hard not to doze off so I can enjoy every second of it! Marv, on the other hand, slept the entire time!
Honestly, at first, I felt that their back massage still lacked something. I usually enjoy massages which include stretching your waist and back, making your bones pop (hehe), you know what I mean. Nonetheless, before they end the massage, the masseuse will ask you if you want to do some stretching and that is where the bone-cracking activities will occur -- my most favorite part! Their stretching was able to complete my whole Swedish massage experience, thumbs up!
I also appreciated the fact that Dona, the spa's manager, was there to attend to our needs and to make sure we were comfortable. She was also kind enough to explain to the makulit me each one of their services that I was interested in.
I went home feeling irie high and my feet, thighs, and legs were all thanking me for the well-deserved pampering. Can't wait to go back to try their Chocolate Nourishing Foot Spa, Red Wine Scrub, or their pedicure since they also use Orly nail polish (try lang ng try!).
So if a dinner or movie date is already too mainstream for you and your special someone, you now know where to go! Let me know how it goes!

For only PhP 119, let the fishes eat away your dead skin for 20 minutes. Beside me was a kid (but not in photo) who was also enjoying the fish spa.

Didn't tickle at all. Perhaps because my feet were so sore that day. Meanwhile, Marv was doing his best to stop giggling but super enjoyed the experience.
